New IICI Resource To Complement The Murad Code

Our partner, the Institute for International Criminal Investigations, just launched a new resource developed with survivors to complement the Murad Code, the In Our Own Words: Survivor Perspectives Resource.

While the Murad Code features best practices and standards to investigate systematic conflict-related sexual violence, this new resource focuses on survivors’ voices to show how these standards translate into practice and why they matter. It also demonstrates how assumptions, stigma and bias can cause harm, what respect looks like in practice, and how seemingly small choices affect survivors’ lives.

So far, the resource is available in English, Arabic, Bosnian, French, Nepali, Spanish, Swahili and Ukrainian. An interactive microsite featuring audio clips and curated quotes is also available here.
